How can we help?

How far in advance can I make a reservation?

We will accept and hold reservations for up to 1 week.

When can I move in?

If there is a storage space available that meets your specific storage needs, you can move in anytime during normal access hours.

What type of documentation do I need to rent a storage unit?

We require a government-issued photo ID (example: driver’s license, provincial ID, or passport).

Do you rent space month-to-month or do I have to sign a lease?

Our rental contracts are in 1-month increments. No long-term lease is required.

Are there any set up or move out fees?

For traditional storage units, we only charge you for rent in 1 month periods.

How much notification do I need to give when I no longer require the unit?

If possible, we appreciate 3 days notice but we understand that plans can change.  Please notify us as soon as you have vacated your unit with no items left behind and removed the lock.  Please note: we do not prorate your move out for unused days.

What kind of payments do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, debit/interac, EFT, e-transfer or cash. To avoid late charges we recommend that you enroll in our Autopay credit card payment. Payments can be made through our website “Pay Online”

What do I do if I lose my access PIN?

Call Space at Hand for assistance during regular business hours.

If I rent a storage unit from you, can my family or friends have access as well?

You can allow access for other people you specify.

Do you require insurance on my stored goods?

It is recommended that you have insurance on your contents. You can purchase insurance from us or sign a waiver if you already purchased insurance coverage. If you are a homeowner, you could already be covered. Check your policy before purchasing additional coverage.

Are there any items that cannot be stored?

Liquids, explosives, flammable liquids, toxic materials and perishables are not allowed. Lithium batteries are also prohibited. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding a specific item.

Do you have moving carts and dollies available?

Yes, we offer both carts and dollies at no extra charge where drive up units are not available.

Do staff have to be at the office to let me through the security gates?

No. At the time of signing you will be given your own security access code that will allow you access to your unit during normal access hours.
